On
Saturday, December 17th, our first school Christmas party was held
as a farewell event for 2005. Many parents enjoyed participating
in activities with their children and watching them doing different
activities. They could see how the children behave and act without
them in their regular classes in interaction with the teachers.
Our new teacher Jenne (who will be teaching our new preschool classes
and English classes from January) came to this event and met everybody.
When the children arrived, Barry greeted them in his Santa costume
and everyone posed for a photo with Barry Santa. Kids played with
Jenne and Yoko in the playroom while waiting for everyone to arrive.
When the party started, everybody sat for circle time. Barry called
out everyone's name and each student said "Here!" (of course in
English) with a big voice. We practiced saying some words in English
out loud after the teachers in English time and enjoyed learning
about Christmas words using Christmas flash cards. Then we sang
and danced to some cool Rock'n roll music that the kids absolutely
loved. They were all Barry's personal favorites! We also used musical
instruments and marched along to Jingle Bells. In the latter half
of the event, we decorated a Christmas stocking in arts and crafts
time, and sat at the table for snack time which was followed by
story time. Everybody moved back to the main playroom for game time
and finally, everybody received a present from Barry Santa. They
all put their presents in the Christmas stocking they made. Everybody
enjoyed this exciting event and went home with big smiles on their
faces. Please come and join us at our events again. The next ones
will be Spring school at the end of March and the Easter party in
April. |
