This year there were many different summer school classes to choose
from during the Japanese summer school holidays. For the first time,
we had 4 hours summer school for 4-6 year old children, and another
for elementary school students. We also had 3 hour summer preschool
(including lunchtime) for 2-3 year old children, so it was an excellent
opportunity for children to experience preschool for the first time.
The 4th floor "jungle room" opened just in time for summer school.
One of the themes was "Jungle and Rainforest". Children enjoyed
the jungle-themed activities such as singing along and dancing to
"The Lion Hunt" song in the jungle-like setting. Jenne and Keiko's
dance lessons were very popular. Students and teachers dressed up
with flower leis and learned to Hula Dance with Jenne. Keiko also
taught modern dance steps to elementary children with some hip hop
movements. Dance lessons were a lot of fun and we would like to
arrange more in the near future. |
